Faerie’s last single “k-town” has already captivated the ears of GRRRL Music, CLOUT Magazine, and fusionnostalgia’s “Indie” playlist.
Rising indie-pop artist Faerie returns on November 18, 2022, with celestial ballad “showgirl” about recovering from a misogynistic relationship and being reborn after choosing her peace. “Say you’ll only love me when you want me,” she sings in quiet desperation. Her sultry, ghostly vocals fill this Las Vegas painted landscape while LA producer Matty Bedrosian builds emotional intensity with eerie guitars and melancholic organ.
“I’m a recovering people pleaser, which is essentially the inspiration for this song. It’s all the built up anger and confusion I felt when I allowed myself to be surrounded by toxic individuals gaslighting me in both my personal life and music career. The worst part is that I let it happen because I hate the thought of people hating me. It came back to bite me when it took a toll on my mental health. I couldn’t take it anymore. My old self died when I left them. ‘showgirl’ is a cinematic retelling of this experience.”- Faerie
Call me by your favorite name
It's not my own, but I savor it anyway
Bitter aftertaste
What you give, I take
Your praise is like a drug
Runnin' on your love, ah
To the moon and back
Forever and ever
Take me to your favorite place
High roller, spare a dime on a Sunday
I'll learn how to swing
Just to feel something
Crushed velvet, I can sell it
Guess I'm overzealous, ah
I'll love you to death
Forever and ever
Watch me glow
I'll be your showgirl
Leave a tip at the door
Once you confess you adore me
Say you'll only love me when you want me, baby
Play ourselves another game
Bet on anything you want to keep you sane
Blow the lucky dice
Fly to paradise
Tricks rolled up your sleeve
Choking on a dream, ah
Will you take my breath?
Forever and ever
Watch me glow
I'll be your showgirl
Leave a tip at the door
Once you confess you adore me
Say you'll only love me when you want me, baby
Such a Prima Donna
Sinking in the hotel pool
Left a letter under your pillow
Lipstick signature, too
Acting out anguished behavior
Are you guilty enough to save her?
Took the dive
Forever and ever
Watch me glow
I'll be your showgirl
Leave a tip at the door
Once you confess you adore me
Say you'll only love me when you want me, baby
